In The building of Belluga, in the historic city of Segorbe, oil has been produced since the beginning of last century, the old mill is now the Oil Museum. Inside we can find a room devoted to "La Morruda," awareded as Best Ancient Olive tree in Spain in 2008.
Belluga received the 1st National Award for Promotion and Dissemination of Culture of the Olive. In 2011, Belluga is awarded as "Best youth initiave farming project" and becomes part of the Designation of Origen Comunitat Valenciana.
Gourmet Belluga company dedicated to the development and marketing of all-natural gourmet products, is based on a local variety of olive, Serrana de Espadán.
As for features, extra virgin olive oil is cold extracted only with mechanical processes.
It is a soft fruity oil, very tasty and palatable, suitable to match any type of food, raw or in stews, but is especially recommended for dressing salads and vegetables.
Its composition corresponds to 80% Serrana de Espadán and 20% other varieties.
