Empeltre
|

 |
Empeltre is the property of the community of Aragon. His area
culture extends from the provinces of Teruel Logroño and the Ebro Valley to the province of Tarragona, occurring even in the Balearic Islands. Occupies nearly 85% of the regions of Aragon Teruel, spreading through the lands of Alcaniz, Calaceite Valderrobres, Castellote and the Serrania de Montalbán, located on the border between Aragon and Catalonia.
It is one of the oldest olive trees in Spain. It can reach a large, although its rooting ability is low, which forces the graft to practice as a primary method of propagation. In fact, it seems that its name derives from the Catalan word "empelt" meaning graft, as this variety is grafted onto older ones. Its leaves are dark green and shiny, her jet black olive hue. The olives are oil yield about 18.3%. The fruit is ripening early in the first week of November to the first of December.
Its oil is seamless texture with a fruity soft and delicate, sweet and slightly nutty. Almost never have bitter or itching. The oils are very pleasant on the palate, very sweet and soft. |
